| Due to the adverse weather conditions on the Australia Day weekend The Head Road is closed until further notice. If travelling from Brisbane/Boonah/Beaudesert, continue along Carney's Creek Road to the junction with The Head Road, instead of turning right into the Head Road, follow the Scenic Rim Council detour signs to White Swamp, turn right into the Head Gate Road which will then bring you back onto Spring Creek Road to continue your journey up the mountain to Spring Creek Cafe and Cottages, Queen Mary Falls, Killarney, the Granite Belt and the rest of the Southern Downs. This road is a well maintained, part gravel, part bitumen road, 7 kms longer, but will add an extra 20 mins to your trip. This is a beautiful drive through a lovely unspoilt part of the countryside. |
